ABOUT US

" It has all started with a single room in Portsmouth where I lived for 3 years during my studies in UK..."

Aura Homes is a small family-run company providing nice, well-located, cheap and good quality accommodations to local and foreign visitors. It started its operation in 2008 when I, Baran H. GEYIK, came back from England after having spent 3 years. I was studying Civil Engineering in the University of Portsmouth from 2005 to 2008. I was sharing a flat with many other students and this is how I came up with the idea of doing the same in Istanbul. The first flat was bought in October 2008. This flat had 3 private rooms. With the help of Müge Geyik after 2011, the service that Aura Homes provided has been a great success and the following years new flats have been bought. Aura Homes is now providing 51different sized rooms in 11 flats in Kadikoy, the Asian side of Istanbul. We also have 1 flat in the European side now!

We actually seem a small team at forefront but with all our assistants from our carpenter to our electrician we become a huge family.

The hobby turned to a professional service…

We are very committed to our work. We do our best to reply your reservation inquries  and / or any other requests within 24 hours.

Of course, we cannot say we are guaranteeing the best accommodation in Istanbul, especially comparing to very nice luxury hotels but what we are trying to do is providing good quality houses with affordable prices. In the mean time, I am trying to create different  ranges of accommodation where you can enjoy the luxury or get really good offers who are on a tight budget.

We are also on some accommodation websites such as airbnb, housetrip, etc... We have now 106 positive reviews out of 106! 100% Customer Satisfaction is what we really work on.

Here are some reviews from our happy guests since 2008!

Hope you to join them as well one day!

"The apartment was more than spacious for my family of 6. We were very happy that everyone got a good their own bed to sleep on plus other amenities. The place had a bakery opposite it’s premises. Imagine waking up to freshly baked bread every morning! It was also close to shops, restaurants as well as public transport. I really enjoyed my stay there because everything was just available indoors and outdoors." Hawa from Canada

"I have nothing but good things to say about my stay in Baran's place. Baran is an excellent host - responds promptly in all inquiries and concerns, empathetic, and in general has been very helpful. His place is clean (I'm very particular with bed sheets - and I'm happy to report that they are spotless and they smell nice :) and the location is very accessible. The metro (Seyrantepe station) is within walking distance - which is everything when you are new to a place - and there's a small grocery store just outside the flat and a nearby mall (Vadistanbul mall). Just thankful that I came across his Airbnb ad a month ago ! :)" Jessica from Philippines

" Havde fire dejlige måneder i Baran’s lejlighed. Helt fantastisk beliggenhed på Ali Suavi Sokak.." Tobias from Kastrup

"Baran simply is the best landlord one can have. He is really nice, has nice flats and does everything he can to help you. As en extra you can also drink a beer  or two with him." Joris from Amsterdam

"Baran is an excellent host. He solved all our doubts and was very helpful.  The atmosphere in the shared flat was very good too. We had loads of fun and recommend this flat to anyone who wants to have a nearly native experience in Istanbul." Paula from Barcelona

"I spent another great month in Istanbul, I couldn't wish more, the apartment and my room with balcony made my stay comfy, the weather was beautiful  and I met amazing people who became my friends, what more we can want." Lubor from Prague

"Baran's apartment was clean and neat and we shared the flat with some  other boarders, all of whom were very friendly and helpful. We never met  Baran but his mother let us in and showed us the room. She was very patient and helpful, even though she didn't speak very much English. All in all, it was a  great place to stay to explore the Asia side of Istanbul!" Taani from Melbourne

"I intend to live in Istanbul for ten days in calm area. I choose Kadikoy and choose Barans apartment to live. He was very helpful person because He showed me the  way from Ataturk airport till the apartment by using public transportation which  let save a lot cash. Also,I have his number which guide me step by step till I arrive. Also, another advantage, when I arrived, Barans was in meeting, so he sent me his mother and brother and they showed me the first apartment which is cheap  and good but I told them that I need another one even if it is expensive. They took  me to another apartment which was really nice .So,they are easy going family  and you have many options in your living and staying.I recommend him for  everybody want to spend quiet time in nice Istanbul." Hazim from Iraq

Our First Ever Logo

Our first ever logo was 100% made in Microsoft Excel by us:) The picture on the left is showing the oldest public transportation, Vapur, to cross the European side. The seagulls will join you during your this 20 mins. journey. They don't accompany you for free! Throwing a few pieces of Turkish bagels, Simit, to the seagulls are one of the most common thing to do in the mornings while travelling by these ferries. The photo is anonymous but it gives a good impression of our location in a classic way. It also includes a partial view of a historical building which is the main train station in the Asian side of Istanbul, Haydarpaşa Garı.
